Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

I am honored to be the guest editor of the official journal of the International Society of Men's Health.

Bladder cancer is a common malignant tumour worldwilde, specifically in males, with high morbidity and mortality. Approximately 25% of bladder cancer are muscle invasive and in these cases, as well as in some types of high malignant non muscle invasive bladder cancer, the gold standard therapy is the radical cystectomy which is characterized by high morbidity. The application of robotic approach to this type of surgery is increasingly widespread in order to improve perioperative and functional outcomes. Although several publications on robotic-assisted radical cystectomy have become available, many questions are still open and debated in Literature, thus which is the best surgical approach for radical cystectomy is still not established.

I would like to focus in this special issue the tips and tricks of this new technique, real advantages and disadvantages of robotic application, the comparison between open and robotic radical cystectomy as well as between intracorporeal and extracorporeal urinary diversion, in order to contribute to improve the knowledge about robot assisted radical cystectomy for urologic community.

This special issue offers an opportunity to address the following but other topics:

- Pre-operative management of patients undergoing robotic radical cystectomy

- New techniques of robotic radical cystectomy and intracorporeal urinary diversion

- Peri-operative, oncologic and functional outcomes of robotic radical cystectomy

- Post-operative management of patients undergone robotic radical cystectomy

- The role of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients undergoing robotic radical cystectomy

- New indications for robotic radical cystectomy

- Quality of life of patients undergone robotic radical cystectomy

Your contribution is welcome in form of original article, case report, commentary and review.
